Highrock Haven

PARTNER OF THE MONTH

Highrock Haven began in 2019 in a small town in South Central Wisconsin after Izaak and Sandy welcomed their first two goats to their homestead. The sole purpose of these two was to clear some brush on their property. Their love for goats grew quickly, and while they don't just use their goats to clear out brush anymore, they proudly breed quality, registered goats.

In early 2021, Sandy and Danielle began handcrafting goat milk soap. They loved the benefits of the goat milk soap and wanted to share it with friends and family, both old and new, near and far! They have now expanded into several personal care items, so be sure to check those out as well!

Galena Cellars

Little did Robert and Joyce Lawlor know back in the early 1970’s what their passion for winemaking would bring.

Acres of rolling farmland hosting 22 different specialty grapes, 60,000 gallons of wine per year, 40 wine varieties, three tasting rooms and thirty plus years later and many cherished friendships, the Lawlors are proud to have created a family legacy…that now spans three generations.

Galena Goat Yoga became a dream for Jenn after losing both parents to Alzheimer’s and being downsized out of corporate America.

With the support of her husband Josh and his extraordinary craftsmanship skills, the dream became a reality!  The couple purchased a small historic farm with an old horse barn and began a long renovation process. In the end, the aptly named, Silver Linings Farm, is now the perfect venue for special occasions: Reunions, Bachelorette, Birthdays, Corporate Health & Wellness, and Team Building Sessions.

Great American Popcorn Co.

Our story begins with family. Great American Popcorn Company began in 1994 when our parents, David & Catherine Lewis, made Galena, Illinois, their full-time home. They left behind corporate jobs in Chicago for a different way of life, one in which family and top-notch customer service would be at the forefront of their business model. Being raised in the store, we watched our folks treat every customer who walked in the door like family. With kids of our own running around now and a lifelong love for popcorn, we will always uphold the same level of customer service that our folks founded our family business on.

Whistleslick Press

Whistleslick Press was founded by educator and author P. J. HarteNaus after the creation of her award-winning anti-bullying book series, Belden Boy. It was prompted by the discovery and restoration of a one-room schoolhouse outside Galena. Over the years, our bookstore has grown with many new award-winning children’s books. The Belden Boy Writing Camp was also created, a writing camp for children each summer inside Belden School. P. J. drives her vintage bookmobile loaded with hay bales, flowers and buckets of her books to numerous events in the area. The newly created Whistleslick Design helps adults to fulfill their dreams of becoming self-published, assisting with the creation of their very own book. But what is most important to P. J., is that children learn to love reading and writing. With the Belden Boy Gives Back Program, a portion of the proceeds go to animal sanctuaries and rescue groups in need.
